North Park Studios, seated in the heart of Colorado Springs, is the home of producer and engineer, Jarrod Headley. Jarrod's musical style combines classic soulful performance with the sound and sonic presence that is sought after in today's pop markets.
Luckily for me, I have had the opportunity to get to know Jarrod over the last couple of years and I have to say...this dude is a pleasure to work with. He is very collected and precise when it comes to explaining what he is feeling. This is not only an invaluable asset to have in a recording environment, but in life in general. All around, Jarrod Headley is a beast of a producer and a gem in the studio.
So what about his sound? Simply put, it is amazing. Everything is recorded with the utmost precision and clarity. Drums are punchy, full, and roomy. Vocals have a nice analog harmonic bath that just sounds right. Guitars sounds out the wazoo thanks to his Kemper Profiling Amp and bazillions of rig emulations. Last but not least, when he throws these things together through his Toft ATB then gives it a bit of a rinse in Pro Tools everything comes together in an elegantly moving mix that suits the style of music perfectly.
If you are a serious recording artist, and find yourself in Colorado, do yourself a favor and go to North Park Studios. Hang out with Mr. Headley for a few moments, talk a little shop, make a connection. You will be glad you did and you may just end up with an epic next album.
